We took over the management of Toucks Wood in 2008 and intend to manage it as a sustainable resource, using it to provide wood fuel, wood and forest products.
There has been a woodland on the site for centuries however latterly it has been planted with commercial conifers. It is intended to replant with a mixture of native broadleaves and some conifers.
Some areas will be replanted as a hazel coppice and in years to come may provide a living for a woodsman. There are even plans to establish an orchard.
There is about 2 Km of derelict dry stone wall to repair. From time to time we intend to run some woodland activity courses.
